Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT)
SBRT is a treatment that uses very high doses of radiation.
For some cancers, it can be given as a single dose or as daily doses, with treatment time lasting five days.
It’s typically used to treat small, well-defined tumors such as those found in early-stage, non-small cell lung cancers.
Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT) is a treatment that uses very high doses of radiation. The beams that are at various intensities are directed from different angles to precisely target a tumor. Using precision targeting helps to minimize damage to surrounding tissues.
By administering higher intensities of radiation, treatments are often completed in much less time compared to other kinds of treatments. For some cancers, it can be given as a single dose or as daily doses, with treatment time lasting five days.
