After a person completes their cancer treatment, one of the biggest thoughts always on their minds is what if the cancer comes back. Emotions such as fear, anger and sadness and feelings of uncertainty are normal, but they may make it difficult to cope day to day or move ahead with life.
Our physicians and care team can help patients with those concerns. Connecting with other cancer survivors can also be helpful in helping to manage the constant fear of recurrence.
The National Cancer Institute provides a publication for patients and their families to help them with coping tips and helpful information on facing the cancer experience again. When Cancer Returns is available online and can also be downloaded free of charge.
