Washing your hands regularly is an important part of maintaining good health. Having clean hands is the single most important way to prevent the spread of illness that can be caused by viruses and bacteria. You can do this a couple different ways. Washing your hands thoroughly with soap and warm water works well, as long as you lather well, rubbing all over the top of your hands and in between your fingers for at least twenty seconds. It’s important is to remember the area around and under the fingernails. If possible, use a paper towel to dry your hands then use it to turn off the faucet and open the door. An alcohol-based hand sanitizer that has at least sixty percent alcohol is also effective. You need to coat your hands well, covering all surfaces. Then let them air dry which only takes about twenty seconds.
